Installation Notes
Installation steps (overview for 4HK1 OHV engine):
Remove valve cover and any related components
Remove old rocker arm shaft assembly - unbolt the rocker shaft pedestal bolts in a sequence (loosen gradually). Lift the shaft with rocker arms attached
Inspect pushrods and lifters - replace if worn
Clean cylinder head mating surface - remove old gasket material
Lubrie new rocker arm shaft - apply engine assembly lube to the shaft and rocker arm bushings
Install new assembly - position on the cylinder head with pushrods aligned in the rocker arm sockets. Torque pedestal bolts to specifiion (typically 35-45 Nm for 4HK1) in sequence
Adjust valve lash - set intake and exhaust clearances to OE specifiion (typically 0.25-0.35mm cold for 4HK1)
Install new valve cover gasket - torque cover bolts
Start engine - check for abnormal noise and oil leaks
Re-check valve lash after warm-up - if required
