Installation Notes
Installation steps (typical for inner rear hub seal):
Safely lift vehicle and remove rear wheels - Support on jack stands
Remove axle shafts (for full-floating axle) or remove hub/drum assembly
Remove old inner seal - Use a seal puller or pry bar carefully to avoid damaging hub bore
Clean hub bore thoroughly - Remove old sealant, rust, and debris. Inspect bore for scratches or burrs
Inspect axle spindle (or housing journal) - Check for wear groove. If a groove is present (>0.5mm deep), install a Speedi-Sleeve or replace component
Lubricate new seal lips - Apply a thin film of clean gear oil or bearing grease to the sealing lip
Position new seal - Place seal squarely into hub bore with lip facing inward (toward bearing cavity)
Drive seal evenly - Use a seal driver that contacts the metal case (not the rubber lip). Tap gently until seal is flush or slightly recessed per OE spec
Reinstall hub, bearings, axle shafts - Adjust bearing preload as per service manual
Refill axle with gear oil - Check level after road test
Inspect for leaks - After test drive, check inside brake drum for oil residue
