This thermostat is the heart of the engine's temperature regulation system. It controls the flow of coolant between the engine and the radiator, ensuring the engine warms up quickly to reduce wear and fuel consumption, while preventing overheating under heavy load.
Operating Principle
Cold Start: When coolant temperature is low (approx. below 70°C), the wax pellet is solid and the valve remains closed. Coolant is restricted to a "small cycle" within the engine block, allowing it to heat up rapidly to operating temperature.
Normal Operation: As coolant temperature rises (approx. above 80°C), the wax expands, pushing the valve open. Coolant then flows through the radiator in a "large cycle" for maximum cooling, dissipating excess heat from this high-output engine.

Always allow the engine to cool completely before servicing the cooling system.
Never reuse the old gasket/seal. A new sealing ring is required for installation to ensure a leak-proof seal.
Use a torque wrench on all fasteners; over-tightening can crack the thermostat housing.
Always refill with the correct coolant specification (G12++ or G13) mixed 50/50 with distilled water.
Always bleed air from the cooling system after reassembly to prevent hot spots and ensure proper thermostat function.
