Installation & Maintenance Recommendations
IMPORTANT: Engine cooling system service must be performed by a qualified technician. Always drain the coolant and engine oil before removing the oil cooler housing. Never reuse old gaskets or O-rings.
Preparation: Drain the engine coolant and engine oil into suitable containers. Disconnect the battery negative terminal. Remove the oil cooler lines and mounting bolts.
Removal: Remove the oil cooler housing mounting bolts in a diagonal sequence. Carefully separate the housing from the oil cooler element and cylinder block. Remove the old gasket and O-rings.
Inspection: Clean the housing and inspect for cracks, warping, or corrosion. Inspect the oil cooler element for damage or clogging. Check the cylinder block mating surface for flatness.
