This vacuum clutch booster is a critical component of the clutch actuation system, responsible for amplifying the driver's clutch pedal force through vacuum assistance, ensuring smooth and effortless clutch operation under all driving conditions.
The vacuum clutch booster is mounted between the clutch master cylinder and the clutch slave cylinder. It uses engine intake manifold vacuum to amplify the hydraulic pressure generated by the master cylinder. When the clutch pedal is depressed, the master cylinder sends hydraulic fluid to the booster's control valve, which opens to allow atmospheric pressure to enter one side of the internal diaphragm. The pressure differential across the diaphragm multiplies the hydraulic force before transmitting it to the slave cylinder, which then actuates the clutch release fork.
