Installation Notes
Professional mechanic installation strongly recommended:
  1. Ensure engine is completely cool before disassembly
  2. Disconnect battery negative terminal
  3. Drain engine oil into suitable container
  4. Remove drive belts and pulleys to access timing cover
  5. Remove timing chain cover to access assembly
  6. Unbolt and remove old oil pump balance shaft assembly
  7. Thoroughly clean all mating surfaces
  8. Inspect timing chain, guides, and oil pickup tube
  9. Install new assembly with proper alignment
  10. Torque mounting bolts to manufacturer specifications
  11. Reinstall timing chain cover with new gasket
  12. Reinstall pulleys and belts
  13. Refill with correct grade and quantity of engine oil
  14. Prime oil system by cranking engine without starting
  15. Start engine and verify proper oil pressure
  16. Road test to verify proper operation
