Vehicle Speed Sensor 8-97328058-0 8-97167619-0 For ISUZU CXZ81 10PE1 8973280580 8971676190

Function: Vehicle speed sensor measures transmission output speed and sends electrical signal to ECU and speedometer, enabling accurate speed display, shift control, and cruise operation in ISUZU CXZ81 10PE1 heavy trucks.

The Vehicle Speed Sensor (OEM Numbers: 8-97328058-0 / 8-97167619-0 / 8973280580 / 8971676190) is a premium-quality, direct replacement electronic sensor designed specifically for ISUZU CXZ81 series heavy-duty trucks equipped with 10PE1 diesel engines. This precision-engineered sensor monitors the rotational speed of the transmission output shaft and converts it into an electrical pulse signal that is transmitted to the engine control unit (ECU), transmission controller, and dashboard speedometer.

• OE Quality: Manufactured to strict ISUZU dimensional and electrical specifications for perfect fit and function
• Accurate Speed Signal: Precision sensing element provides reliable, consistent speed signal to ECU and instrument cluster
• Durable Construction: Robust housing resists vibration, temperature extremes, and under-vehicle contaminants
• Sealed Connector: Prevents moisture and dust intrusion, ensuring long-term electrical reliability
• Restores Speedometer Function: Eliminates erratic, intermittent, or non-operational speed display
• Improves Drivability: Correct speed signal ensures proper transmission shift points and cruise control operation
• Direct Replacement: Matches OE sensor dimensions, thread pitch, and electrical connector
• Long Service Life: Engineered for heavy-duty commercial truck applications
• Essential for Diagnostics: Proper speed signal helps avoid false trouble codes and enables accurate system monitoring

This vehicle speed sensor is specifically designed for ISUZU heavy-duty trucks and industrial equipment. Common applications include:

• ISUZU CXZ81 (Heavy-Duty Trucks)
• ISUZU EX, GX series (as applicable)
• ISUZU 10PE1 Engine Specifications:
  • V10, Inline Diesel
  • Displacement: 16.4L (varies)
  • Application: Heavy-duty trucks and industrial use

Also compatible with various ISUZU models using the same speed sensor configuration and 10PE1 engine.

Professional mechanic or auto electrician installation recommended:

1. Ensure vehicle is safely raised - Use appropriate jack stands or a lift to access the sensor location
2. Locate the vehicle speed sensor - Typically mounted on the transmission output shaft housing or rear differential
3. Disconnect battery - Always disconnect the negative terminal before working on electrical components
4. Disconnect electrical connector - Carefully unplug the wire harness connector from the old sensor
5. Remove the old sensor - Unscrew or unbolt the old sensor from its mounting location
6. Clean the mounting area - Remove dirt, debris, or metal particles from the sensor mounting hole and trigger wheel
7. Inspect trigger wheel - Check for damaged or missing teeth on the tone ring/trigger wheel
8. Install new sensor - Thread or bolt the new sensor into position; ensure proper seating
9. Adjust air gap - If applicable, set the air gap between sensor tip and trigger wheel per specification
10. Reconnect electrical connector - Plug the wire harness securely into the new sensor; apply dielectric grease
11. Reconnect battery - Reconnect the negative terminal
12. Test operation - Start the engine and drive the vehicle; verify speedometer operation and check for trouble codes
13. Clear codes - Use a diagnostic scanner to clear any related trouble codes
