Chilled water air handling units (AHUs) use a central chiller to supply cool water to an AHU's coils, which then cools and dehumidifies the air before distribution in sensitive applications like IC (integrated circuit) manufacturing and warehousing.

How Chilled Water AHUs Work
Chiller: A chiller cools water to a low temperature.
Piping: The chilled water circulates through a closed-loop system to the AHU.

Heat Exchange: As air is blown across the cold coils by a fan, it releases its heat and moisture to the chilled water.
