Product Introduction: Our High-Strength Polyester Geotextile is a professional geosynthetic material exclusively developed for the reinforcement and filtration of mine tailings dams. It is produced from 100% high-purity polyester fibers through advanced needle-punching or weaving technology, with a uniform structure and consistent performance. Unlike ordinary geotextiles, this product is optimized for the harsh conditions of mining areas, with strictly controlled fiber density and pore size to meet the high standards of mine safety and environmental protection. It is available in custom weights ranging from 100g/m² to 800g/m², and can be tailored in width and length according to the specific dimensions of tailings dams.
Main Functions: Firstly, it has exceptional reinforcement performance—with a tensile strength of ≥80kN/m and an elongation at break of 20-30%, it can effectively disperse the pressure of tailings on the dam body, enhance the overall stability of the dam, and prevent deformation or collapse caused by uneven stress. Secondly, it provides reliablefiltration and drainage: its uniformly distributed pore structure (pore size 0.1-0.5mm) allows seepage water in the tailings to pass smoothly while retaining soil particles and tailings solids, avoiding clogging of the drainage system and reducing the risk of dam body saturation and seepage. Thirdly, it features strong chemical corrosion resistance, which can withstand long-term erosion by cyanide, sulfide, heavy metal ions and other harmful chemicals generated in mineral processing, without degradation or loss of performance. Finally, it has excellent durability, with a service life of over 50 years in natural environments, thanks to its UV-stabilized and anti-aging properties.
Application Scenarios: This product is mainly applicable to the construction and renovation of mine tailings dams, including new tailings dam reinforcement, old dam safety upgrading, and tailings disposal site filtration layers. It is also suitable for the reinforcement of auxiliary structures in tailings ponds, such as drainage ditches, anti-seepage trenches, and dam slope protection. In addition, it can be used in the filtration and reinforcement of coal gangue piles, waste rock yards, and other mining waste storage facilities, especially in large-scale metal mines (such as copper, gold, and iron mines) where tailings treatment requires high safety standards.
Installation and Usage Notes: During installation, ensure that the base surface of the dam is flat and free of sharp objects (such as stones, steel bars, and glass) to avoid puncturing the geotextile; if there are uneven areas, use sand or gravel to level them first. When laying, overlap the edges of adjacent geotextiles by 15-20cm, and fix them with special geotextile nails or seaming machines to prevent displacement caused by water flow or wind. Avoid dragging the geotextile violently during construction to prevent fiber breakage. After installation, conduct a comprehensive inspection to check for gaps, tears, or loose fixes, and repair any defects in a timely manner. During use, regularly monitor the performance of the geotextile in key areas (such as the dam crest and slope foot), and clean up accumulated debris on the surface to ensure unobstructed drainage.
