Product Introduction: The Woven Polypropylene Geotextile is a high-strength reinforcement material designed for mine embankment reinforcement and stabilization. It is produced from high-tenacity polypropylene yarns through precision warp and weft weaving, with a tight and regular woven structure. The product has excellent dimensional stability and creep resistance, which can maintain its shape and performance under long-term embankment loads. It is treated with anti-corrosion, anti-mildew, and UV-stabilization processes, ensuring long-term service in diverse mining environments (such as humid, chemically polluted, and strong sunlight areas). It is available in tensile strengths ranging from 40kN/m to 150kN/m and widths from 2m to 6m, which can be customized according to the height and slope ratio of the embankment.
Main Functions: Firstly, it has exceptional reinforcement performance—it can effectively distribute the weight of the embankment soil and external forces (such as rainwater scouring and earthquake) to the entire embankment, reducing local stress concentration and the risk of embankment settlement and collapse. Secondly, it enhances embankment stability: the woven structure can interlock with soil particles, improving the cohesion and internal friction angle of the soil, and preventing embankment sliding. Thirdly, it provides layer separation: it isolates the embankment fill material from the underlying foundation soil, preventing the mixing of different materials and ensuring the bearing capacity of the foundation. In addition, it has good drainage performance, allowing rainwater and groundwater to drain quickly, reducing the moisture content of the embankment soil and avoiding softening and damage.
Application Scenarios: This product is mainly used in the reinforcement and stabilization of mine embankments, including mine tailings dam embankments (the core structure of tailings ponds), waste rock embankments (for storing waste rock), road embankments in mining areas (connecting mining areas and external roads), and fill embankments in mining construction (for leveling construction sites). It is particularly suitable for embankments built on soft soil foundations or in humid mining areas, where stability is critical. It is widely applied in metal mines, coal mines, and non-metallic mines. In addition, it can be used in the reinforcement of embankments in abandoned mine remediation projects, improving the safety of the remediated areas.
Installation and Usage Notes: Before installation, level and compact the embankment foundation, and remove sharp objects (such as stones and tree roots) to avoid puncturing the geotextile. Lay the geotextile along the embankment direction, with an overlap of 20-30cm at the longitudinal joints and 15-20cm at the transverse joints, and fix the joints with seaming tape or stitching. When filling the embankment, use layered filling and compaction (compaction degree ≥95%), and avoid dumping fill material directly on the geotextile from a high height to prevent damage. Fix the top and bottom of the geotextile with anchor bolts or pressing plates to prevent displacement. During use, regularly monitor the embankment for cracks, settlements, or geotextile exposure, and take timely reinforcement measures if any abnormalities are found. Avoid using chemicals (such as solvents and strong oxidants) near the geotextile to prevent corrosion.
