The L5508D1AP is a DIN rail mounted leading edge dimmer from the Clipsal C-Bus range, configured with eight independent channels at 1 A each. The trailing P in the part number indicates this version does not contain a C-Bus power supply, requiring a separate unit to energise the bus. This makes the module ideal for panels where power is already provided elsewhere. Leading edge phase control is designed for incandescent lamps, mains voltage halogen, and low voltage lamps fed from conventional wire wound transformers. Panel design must address the power supply requirement before ordering dimmers, as the number of C-Bus power supplies depends on total network current rather than the number of dimmer modules. When replacing a module, the C-Bus network address and group addresses must be reapplied.
