Under the influence of humidity and impurities, different live parts and grounded metal components in electrical products may experience insulation leakage. The resulting arc can lead to breakdown, short circuit, or discharge, causing material corrosion or even fire hazards. This testing instrument performs destructive testing on insulation materials by simulating these conditions to evaluate the relative tracking resistance of insulators under electric field stress in the presence of waterborne impurities at specified voltages.
