SH4507B Automatic Asphalt Softening Point Tester is designed and manufactured in accordance with the requirements specified in T 0606 "Asphalt Softening Point Test (Ring and Ball Method)" of the Chinese Industry Standard JTG E20 "Specifications for Testing Asphalt and Asphalt Mixtures in Highway Engineering" and the Chinese National Standard GB/T 4507 "Method for Determination of Softening Point of Petroleum Asphalt.".

This instrument is suitable for determining the softening point of various types of asphalt, including road petroleum asphalt, coal asphalt, and liquid petroleum asphalt. It is the preferred choice for asphalt production enterprises, highway and bridge construction units, as well as relevant universities, colleges, and research institutions.

This instrument employs microcomputer intelligent control, laser automatic detection, LCD touch screen human-machine interface, and lead screw stepper motor lifting technology, featuring linear heating, uniform bath liquid stirring, and automatic sample testing. It is a highly automated asphalt softening point testing instrument with fast, convenient, and accurate testing results.

Instrument Function Principle: The automatic asphalt softening point tester heats the solution medium and asphalt through a heating tube, while a magnetic stirrer ensures uniform temperature distribution in the beaker. The controller employs an interpolation algorithm to regulate output, enabling the medium to rise linearly at a rate of 5°C per minute. During heating, the asphalt in the test ring gradually softens. When the softening temperature is reached, the asphalt in the sample ring slowly forms droplets and descends under the gravitational force of the steel ball. The average temperature at which the asphalt from both sample rings contacts the lower baffle is defined as the asphalt softening point temperature.

Key Technical Indicators and Parameters

● For specimens with a softening point below 80°C, the range is 5°C to 80°C (distilled water).

● For specimens with a softening point above 80°C, the temperature range is 32°C to 210°C (dimethyl silicone oil).
