Product Introduction
The Microcomputer-Controlled Reciprocating Friction and Wear Tester is designed and manufactured in accordance with ASTM testing standards, such as ASTM G99, ASTM G132, ASTM D3702, and others. The machine operates on the principle of subjecting a specimen to linear reciprocating friction testing—with a specified stroke length—under a specific normal contact pressure. Equipped with a stepless speed control system, the device can be utilized under both low-speed and high-speed conditions to evaluate the friction and wear performance of various materials, including lubricants, metals, plastics, coatings, rubber, and ceramics. It is suitable for testing friction performance in configurations such as pin-on-disk and ball-on-disk setups.
The machine primarily consists of a main frame, an axial loading module, a linear reciprocating module, a test oil bath, specimen fixtures, a heating device, and a measurement system. The loading system comprises a precision ball screw, linear motion ball bearings, and a loading shaft; this design minimizes friction within the mechanism, thereby having a negligible impact on the accuracy of the applied test force. The test force sensor utilizes a high-precision load cell, positioned between the loading shaft and the piston; it responds sensitively to changes in the test force and delivers highly accurate readings. The application of the test force is controlled by a high-precision servo motor, characterized by rapid response to changes, high control accuracy, and minimal influence on the final test results.
The application of the test force is managed via a servo system, ensuring smooth and reliable loading; the magnitude of the test force can be precisely set by the operator directly through the computer interface. Key parameters—such as spindle speed, total cycles, test force, friction force, temperature of the friction pair, and test duration—are all under computer control. The system enables real-time acquisition of test data and allows for the generation of various graphical curves, including friction force vs. time, friction coefficient vs. time, and temperature vs. time.
