The rotational viscometer operates based on Newton's law, measuring liquid viscosity by detecting shear forces generated during flow. As the rotor rotates at a specific angular velocity, the instrument calculates viscosity by measuring the proportional relationship between shear force and liquid viscosity.

The sensor rotates within the measured medium, with viscosity directly dependent on the shear rate. Built-in temperature compensation (PT1000 sensor) ensures accurate readings across varying temperature conditions.
