Product Introduction
The double-roll crusher—also known as a twin-roll crusher or simply a roll crusher—is a common type of crushing equipment. It consists of two parallel metal rollers, which are typically equipped with tooth-like structures. The machine functions by drawing material between the rollers as they rotate in opposite directions, thereby crushing it.
Double-roll crushers primarily break down material through compression and shear forces. Material is fed into the crusher’s inlet and caught between the two rotating rollers. As the rollers turn, the material is subjected to compression, shear, and friction, reducing it to the desired particle size. Parameters such as the rotational speed of the rollers, the design of the tooth-like structures, and the gap between the rollers can be adjusted based on the specific characteristics of the material and the required crushing specifications.
Working Principle
During operation, the two rollers—driven by a motor—rotate toward each other, generating a crushing force that instantly breaks down the material. The size of the crushed material is determined by the gap between the rollers: a larger gap results in coarser output, while a smaller gap produces finer output. Furthermore, the roller crusher features a robust self-protection mechanism; if an uncrushable object enters the machine, the rollers automatically retract to allow the foreign object to pass through, thereby preventing damage to the equipment and maintaining operational efficiency.
