The XLCS Cyclone Grit Chamber Remover (Decontamination Machine) is specialized solid-liquid separation equipment designed for grit chambers and aerated grit chambers in wastewater treatment plants. This equipment efficiently lifts heavy particle mixtures (sand and sludge) from tank bottoms and transports them to sand separators.
Equipment Operation & Design
The system features an impeller, drive shaft, motor, reducer, and sand suction system. Influent enters tangentially to form a cyclone. Impeller blades provide stirring and shearing forces that strip organic matter from sand particles. The organic matter overflows with upward water flow while purified sand sinks into the central hopper for extraction via air-lift or sand pump.
