Polyester Mesh Belt Filter Press for Continuous High-Moisture Solid-Liquid Separation
The LRDY series belt filter press is a new-generation, high-efficiency solid-liquid separation system designed for continuous operation. Using a polyester filter belt as the filtration medium, it can process various pretreated suspensions with an initial moisture content of no more than 99.5%. Through multiple stages of gravity drainage, wedge dewatering, and pressure dewatering, the material is converted into a sludge cake. The final moisture content varies depending on the characteristics of the material being processed.
This product is a new-generation belt filter press developed by our company based on advanced international sludge-dewatering technology. Its design incorporates improvements derived from the introduction, study, and adaptation of equipment technologies associated with KLEIN of Germany, ANDRITZ of Austria, and EMO of France. Compared with conventional belt filter presses, the machine can reduce chemical consumption by more than 20% under suitable operating conditions.
Applications and Working Principle
The equipment is suitable for dewatering mixed sludge, digested sludge, and waste activated sludge generated by municipal wastewater treatment plants. It is also widely used for dewatering various types of industrial sludge produced in the metallurgical, mining, chemical, papermaking, textile dyeing and printing, leather, electroplating, brewing, coal-processing, and sugar industries.
The equipment is particularly effective for the dewatering of activated sludge, metallurgical sludge, flotation products, concentrates, tailings, and coal slurry.
Working Process
After the coagulant is added, the sludge is thoroughly mixed and conditioned. It then flows into the feed distributor of the thickening section, where it is evenly distributed across the inclined thickening belt. Under the combined action of gravity and the bidirectional guiding and spreading action of the sludge ploughs, free water is rapidly removed as the filter belt moves.
After gravity thickening, the concentrated sludge passes through a transfer and reversing mechanism and enters the gravity dewatering section of the belt filter press for further water removal. The sludge is then fed into the S-shaped pressure-dewatering section, where it is sandwiched between the upper and lower filter belts. As the belts pass around a series of rollers with different diameters, the sludge is repeatedly compressed and further dewatered.
Finally, the dewatered sludge cake is removed from the filter belts by scraper blades. During operation, the upper and lower filter belts are continuously cleaned by the automatic washing system.
Product Features
The equipment is mainly designed for the direct treatment of unthickened sludge and combines sludge thickening and dewatering in a single unit, reducing the need for separate civil structures and lowering construction costs. When used for previously thickened sludge, it provides a significantly higher treatment capacity and improved dewatering performance compared with a conventional belt press alone.
The thickening section and pressure-dewatering section use filter belts with different pore sizes and operate at different linear speeds, optimizing the solid-liquid separation and dewatering time.
The filtrate can be reused for washing the filter belts, helping to reduce operating costs and freshwater consumption.
The equipment is designed for continuous operation and is equipped with stepless speed adjustment.
The filter belts are equipped with automatic tracking correction using a pneumatic single-side feedback system. Pneumatic belt tensioning provides automatic tension adjustment.
The equipment is easy to operate, runs smoothly, and is convenient to inspect and maintain.
