The gear is a necessary part in the laser chuck. The biggest advantage of helical gears is high transmission accuracy, followed by high intensity and noise and vibration control (high end overlap, low harmonic resonance in modal analysis). Helical gears can better eliminate the impact of pitch error on accuracy because the torque fluctuation caused by friction is smaller. Straight gears may even do better than helical gears purely from the point of view of motion smoothness (smoothness of line load curves).
