Endovenous Laser Treatment (EVLT) is a minimally invasive procedure used to treat varicose veins. Varicose veins occur when venous valves weaken, leading to blood pooling in the lower limbs. The 1940nm wavelength demonstrates the highest absorption in water compared to earlier laser wavelengths (808nm, 980nm, and 1470nm). Since venous walls contain a high proportion of water, this allows for more efficient and targeted energy delivery.
Clinical studies show that:
1940nm has significantly higher absorption than 1470nm
