Product Positioning
Unlike our premium silicone co-extruded neon flex (for full outdoor/coastal use) or SMD5050 tri-chip line (for high-brightness dynamic effects), this SMD2835 series is tuned for long-run linear even glow where dot-free consistency matters more than maximum brightness: perfect for连锁 storefront outlines, walkway guidance, and backlighting for lightbox signage. It retains Vasten’s full factory QC pipeline (48–72hr burn-in, 2-year warranty) but uses a UV-stabilized PVC jacket to keep unit cost competitive for high-volume rollouts.
1. High-Density SMD2835 Light Source (120 LEDs/m)
We use 120 high-brightness SMD2835 chips per meter — a purpose-selected density that balances energy efficiency, glow uniformity, and cost:
SMD2835 is smaller and more efficient than SMD5050 (105–120 lm/W vs. 5050’s ~100 lm/W), so 120 LEDs/m delivers ample brightness for storefront/guidance use without excess power draw
SDCM <3 color tolerance (Standard Deviation of Color Matching) — ensures zero perceptible color shift between batches, even for 50+ location retail rollouts years apart
Ra >80 (white variants) for comfortable, retail-grade warm/cool white; RGB variants use 1R1G1B per 2835 package for clean color mixing without fringing
12V/24V DC low-voltage drive, surface temperature <30°C, 90% energy savings vs. traditional glass neon
2. Dual Protection for LEDs & Components – No “Unit Failure” Cascade
Cheap neon flex uses series-only circuits: if one LED fails, the entire section (or whole strip) goes dark — a nightmare for commercial signage where a dead spot ruins brand visibility. Our dual-protection design eliminates this:
Circuit-level redundancy: 12V units are grouped in 3-LED parallel branches, 24V in 6-LED parallel branches. If a single LED degrades, the rest of its branch stays lit, and the failure doesn’t cascade to the rest of the strip.
Component-level sealing: Every SMD solder joint is secondary-coated with clear silicone before PVC jacketing, preventing moisture/oxidation from reaching the circuit even if the outer jacket is nicked during install. Combined with injection-molded nylon end caps + potted sealant at strip terminations, this keeps the internal circuit isolated from the environment.
We do not use low-cost recycled PVC that yellows/cracks within 6–12 months of light outdoor exposure. Our custom-formulated PVC meets strict global compliance:
RoHS/REACH certified: Zero lead, mercury, phthalates, or other restricted substances — safe for indoor public spaces (schools, food retail, healthcare) and light outdoor use
Imported UV stabilizer additive: Resists photodegradation for 18–24 months in covered outdoor environments (storefront canopies, sign boxes, walkway trellises) without yellowing, brittleness, or surface chalking
Upgrade note: For full outdoor exposure (direct rain, coastal salt spray, >2 years UV), we recommend our silicone co-extruded series — this PVC line is optimized for cost-conscious semi-outdoor/indoor-first projects.
4. Double Lighting Design – High Brightness, Uniform Glow, Zero Dots/Dark Spots
“Double lighting” refers to our two-layer optical design that eliminates the “dotty LED” look common in cheap flex strips:
Layer 1 (direct emission): 120 LEDs/m high-density layout minimizes gaps between light sources, so even close-up inspection doesn’t show obvious LED points
Layer 2 (diffused emission): The PVC jacket is extruded into a semi-circular dome profile with micro-diffuser texture on the inner wall, which scatters the direct LED light into 120° continuous, linear glow — no dark spots between cut points or LED clusters, even for fine brand typography (e.g., café “OPEN” scripts, convenience store logo outlines)
Result: Crisp, uniform brand glow that reads clearly from 20m+ away, with no “patchy” sections that cheapen the brand image.
5. Tool-Free Install, Cuttable & Reconnectable
Designed for fast deployment by standard electricians (no specialist glass neon certification required):
Marked cut points: Black cut lines every 2.5cm (12V) / 5cm (24V) along the strip — cut only at these points to avoid damaging parallel circuits
IP65 reconnect accessories included: Matching nylon waterproof connectors + silicone sealant kits are available separately. Cut, plug in, reseal with provided glue in <5 minutes, and retain full IP65 rating
Mounting flexibility:
Indoor: Pre-applied 3M VHB double-sided tape on FPCB backside for peel-and-stick install
Outdoor: Compatible with standard aluminum extrusion channels (sold separately) for added protection and heatsinking
20mm minimum bend radius: Follows curved building outlines, round signage, column wraps, and irregular landscape features without kinking the FPCB or jacket
6. IP65 Protection Rating (Installation Note)
IP65 certification: Dust-tight, resistant to low-pressure water jets (light rain, sprinkler overspray, outdoor humidity) — suitable for covered patios, sign boxes, and walkway outlines. Not submersible — for immersion use, upgrade to our IP68 silicone series.
Critical install requirement: All cut points, connector joints, and strip terminations MUST be sealed with the provided silicone glue during installation to maintain IP65 rating. Our accessory kits include pre-measured glue tubes and step-by-step sealing instructions to avoid this common failure point.
