What are the advantages of Side view LED neon flex?
Unlike our flexible neon flex strips (designed for curves, logos, and custom shapes), this rigid LED neon tube is engineered for straight, long-run outline applications: retail storefront edges, building cornice lines, sign box backlighting, and municipal walkway guidance. It replaces fragile, high-voltage glass neon tubes with a low-voltage, shatterproof, install-friendly alternative that still delivers the classic "neon glow" — at a fraction of the OPEX.
1. High-Density SMD2835 Light Source – Twice as Bright as Standard SMD3528
We use 120 high-brightness SMD2835 LEDs per meter (vs. the industry-standard 60 LEDs/m for SMD3528 strips):
Single SMD2835 output: ~12 lm (vs. ~6 lm for SMD3528) → 2× higher brightness at the same meterage
Power draw: 14.4W/m (12V/24V DC low-voltage) → 90% energy savings vs. equivalent glass neon tubes
SDCM <3 color tolerance (Standard Deviation of Color Matching) → zero perceptible batch-to-batch color shift for multi-location rollouts
CRI >80 (white variants) for clean retail/commercial glow; RGB variants use 1R1G1B per 2835 package for flicker-free color mixing
Surface temperature <30°C, safe for public spaces and proximity to combustible decor
2. Dual Protection Circuitry – No Single-Point Failure
Cheap neon tubes use series-only circuits: if one LED fails, the entire run or section goes dark — a nightmare for 24/7 commercial signage. Our design eliminates this:
Parallel branch design: 12V units group 3 LEDs per branch, 24V units group 6 LEDs per branch. If a single LED degrades, the rest of its branch stays lit, and failure does not cascade to the rest of the tube.
Component-level sealing: Every SMD solder joint is secondary-coated with clear conformal coating before PVC jacketing, preventing moisture/oxidation from reaching the circuit even if the outer jacket is nicked during install. Injection-molded nylon end caps + potted silicone at tube terminations add a second layer of isolation.
3. Premium Eco-Friendly UV-Resistant PVC Jacket
We do NOT use low-cost recycled PVC that yellows/cracks within 6–12 months of light outdoor exposure. Our custom-formulated tube jacket meets strict global compliance:
RoHS/REACH certified: Zero lead, mercury, or phthalates — safe for indoor public spaces (schools, food retail, healthcare) and light outdoor use
Imported UV stabilizer additive: Resists photodegradiation for 18–24 months in covered outdoor environments (storefront canopies, sign boxes, walkway trellises) without yellowing, brittleness, or surface chalking
Upgrade note: For full outdoor exposure (direct rain, coastal salt spray, >2 years UV), we recommend our silicone co-extruded neon flex series — this PVC tube line is optimized for cost-conscious light outdoor/indoor-first projects.
4. Dome Profile & 180° Uniform Illumination
The tube is extruded into a semi-circular dome profile (rather than flat) for two key optical advantages:
Built-in diffusion: The dome shape acts as a secondary diffuser, breaking up LED point sources into 180° continuous, linear glow — zero visible LED dots, even on close inspection, no dark spots between LED clusters
Clean color mixing (RGB variants): The rounded inner wall reflects and blends light from the 3 dies per SMD, eliminating color fringing (e.g., no red "halo" around green text) — critical for consistent brand glow across long runs
180° beam spread covers both the front face of signage/architecture and shallow side angles, perfect for outline applications where “one-side-only” glow looks cheap
Designed for fast deployment by standard electricians (no specialist glass neon high-voltage certification required):
Marked cut points: Black cut lines every 0.5m/1m along the tube (aligned to parallel branch breaks) — cut only at these points to avoid damaging circuits
IP65 reconnect accessories included: Matching nylon waterproof connectors + pre-measured silicone sealant tubes are available separately. Cut, plug in, reseal in <5 minutes, and retain full IP65 rating
Mounting flexibility:
Compatible with standard aluminum extrusion channels (sold separately) for added protection and heatsinking
Can be directly embedded into pre-cut slots in sign boxes or architectural millwork for a flush finish
20mm minimum bend radius (only for very gentle curves; for tight bends, use our flex strip line instead)
IP65 certification: Dust-tight, resistant to low-pressure water jets (light rain, sprinkler overspray, outdoor humidity) — suitable for covered patios, sign boxes, and walkway outlines. Not submersible — for immersion use, upgrade to our IP68 silicone series.
Mandatory install requirement: All cut points, connector joints, and tube terminations MUST be sealed with the provided silicone glue during installation to maintain IP65 rating. Our accessory kits include pre-measured glue tubes and step-by-step sealing instructions to avoid this common failure point.
