Standard LED neon flex (12×22mm cross-section) is too bulky for narrow architectural trims, slim storefront borders, and light-duty furniture/deck accents. Our extra-thin line (5×12mm / 8×16mm cross-section) solves this: it keeps the iconic neon glow in a profile that fits where thicker flex can’t, while retaining IP65 waterproofing and 90% energy savings vs. traditional glass neon. It is the default choice for cost-conscious indoor/semi-outdoor rollouts where space is tight and brand consistency matters.

We specify SMD2835 over larger SMD5050 for this ultra-thin line to balance brightness, glow uniformity, and cost:

2. Dual Protection for LEDs & Components – No “Unit Failure” Cascade

Cheap ultra-thin flex uses all-series circuits to save space: one LED failure blacks out the entire section, ruining brand visibility for commercial clients. Our dual-protection design eliminates this risk even in the slim profile:

• Circuit-level redundancy: 12V units group 3 LEDs into an independent parallel branch, 24V units group 6 LEDs per branch. If a single LED degrades/dies, the rest of its branch stays lit, and failure does not cascade to the rest of the run.
• Component-level sealing: Every SMD solder joint is secondary-coated with clear silicone before PVC jacketing, preventing moisture/oxidation from reaching circuits even if the outer jacket is nicked during install. Injection-molded nylon end caps + potted sealant at strip terminations add a second layer of isolation for the internal circuit.
• 2oz thickened copper FPCB​ (vs. standard 1oz for cheap slim flex): Minimizes voltage drop on long runs (up to 10m per power feed) — no “bright head / dim tail” effect even in the thin profile.

5. Easy to Install, Cuttable & Reconnectable

• Marked cut points: Black cut lines every 3cm (12V) / 6cm (24V) along the strip — cut only at these points to avoid damaging parallel circuits
• IP65 reconnect accessories included: Matching nylon waterproof connectors + pre-measured silicone sealant kits are available separately. Cut, plug in, reseal with provided glue in <5 minutes, and retain full IP65 rating
• Mounting flexibility:
  • Indoor: Pre-applied 3M VHB double-sided tape on FPCB backside for peel-and-stick install (perfect for furniture edges, cabinet undersides)
  • Outdoor: Compatible with standard narrow aluminum extrusion channels (sold separately) for added protection and heatsinking
• 20mm minimum bend radius: Follows narrow signage borders, round column wraps, and irregular furniture edges without kinking FPCB or jacket

6. Protection Rating IP65 (Critical Install Requirement)

• IP65 certification: Dust-tight, resistant to low-pressure water jets (light rain, sprinkler overspray, outdoor humidity) — suitable for covered patios, sign boxes, walkway trellises, and narrow storefront borders. Not submersible — for immersion use, upgrade to our IP68 silicone series.
• Mandatory install step: All cut points, connector joints, and strip terminations MUST be sealed with the provided silicone glue during installation to maintain IP65 rating. Our accessory kits include step-by-step sealing instructions to avoid this common failure point that causes most “waterproof neon” field failures.
