Standard LiFePO4 batteries cannot be charged below 0 degrees C - charging in freezing temperatures causes lithium plating that permanently damages cells. This battery's self-heating system solves the problem: when the BMS detects cell temperature below 0 degrees C, it activates the built-in heating pad (drawing power from the battery or solar input) to warm cells to 5 degrees C before charging begins.
