As modern evolutions of balanced cranes, tower cranes incorporate similar fundamental components. They are securely fixed to concrete foundations (sometimes attached directly to building structures) and offer optimal combinations of height and lifting capacity for high-rise construction projects.

Height Limiter: Controls extreme upper and lower positions of lifting hook for safe operation
Slewing Limiter: Controls maximum rotation limits in both left and right directions
Amplitude Limiter: Controls trolley position limits for inward and outward movement
Overload Protection: Activates audible warning when loads exceed capacity to protect equipment and personnel
Emergency Brake: Enables immediate braking during emergency situations to safeguard personnel and assets
