Product Overview
 
The rope fastener is a critical safety component that connects the hoisting ropes to the elevator car and counterweight. Its function is to securely fasten the rope ends and smoothly transmit the traction machine's driving force to the car. Its reliability directly impacts passenger safety, making it a high-risk elevator component.
 
Key Safety Requirements
 
There are various styles of rope ends available in the market according to different needs. Regardless of the type, the following mandatory criteria must be met:
 
1. Connection Strength: The mechanical strength of the connection between the rope and the termination must be capable of withstanding at least 80% of the rope’s minimum breaking load.
2. Anti-loosening: Reliable anti-loosening measures, such as springs, double nuts, and split pins, must be in place, and all components must be intact and free of defects.
3. Tension Equalization: The difference in tension among the individual ropes must be strictly controlled within 5%. For this purpose, springs are usually installed at the termination to absorb shock and facilitate adjustment.
 
 
The rope fastener is a high-risk safety component of the elevator. Its selection, installation, and routine maintenance must be carried out by certified professionals strictly in accordance with the manufacturer’s requirements.
