Characteristics
Transmission of torque: It can transfer power from one shaft to another to ensure the normal operation of mechanical equipment. Different types of couplings have different torque transmission capabilities and can be selected according to actual needs. For example, rigid couplings are suitable for occasions where large torque needs to be transmitted and high requirements for the alignment of the two shafts are required; while flexible couplings can adapt to a certain degree of relative displacement between the two shafts while transmitting torque. 2. Compensation for displacement: Flexible couplings have the ability to compensate for the relative displacement between two shafts, which can be divided into axial displacement, radial displacement, and angular displacement. For example, toothed couplings can compensate for large axial and radial displacements and are often used to connect two shafts with low installation accuracy requirements; while universal couplings can effectively transmit power when there is a large angular displacement between the two shafts and are often used in occasions such as automobile drive shafts.
