Warnings & Precautions

Charging

  • Use a Li-ion Specific Charger: Always use a charger designed for Li-ion chemistry and configured for this battery's voltage (16.8V) and current limits. 
  • Avoid Overcharging: Do not exceed the maximum charge voltage of 16.8V. Overcharging can cause thermal runaway, leading to fire or explosion .

  • Temperature Monitoring: Charge only within the specified temperature range (0°C to +45°C). Charging below 0°C can lead to lithium plating and internal short circuits; charging above 45°C increases the risk of overheating and degradation .


Discharging

  • Avoid Deep Discharge: Stop using the battery before reaching the cut-off voltage (10.0V). Over-discharging can cause irreversible internal damage and render the battery unusable .
  • Current Limits: Do not exceed the maximum continuous discharge current (2C or 11.6A) to prevent excessive heat generation and potential damage .

  • Temperature Management: Avoid discharging outside the recommended temperature range (-20°C to +60°C). Extreme cold reduces performance and capacity; extreme heat accelerates aging and increases safety risks .


Storage

  • Partial Charge Storage: For long-term storage (longer than one month), store the battery at a 30%-50% State of Charge (SOC) .
  • Cool and Dry Environment: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, moisture, and heat sources. The ideal storage temperature is between -20°C to +45°C .

  • Regular Checks: If stored for very long periods, check the voltage every 3-6 months and recharge if it drops near the cut-off voltage.
