Advantages:


Higher Energy Density: Volumetric energy density reaches 450-500Wh/L, 20%-25% higher than Lithium Manganese Oxide at the same size. A 1000mAh capacity can support longer device battery life (e.g., extending the battery life of a smartwatch from 5 days to 8-10 days);


Longer Cycle Life: Typical charge and discharge cycle life is 300-500 times (at 80% depth of charge and discharge), 100-200 times more than Lithium Manganese Oxide, eliminating the need for frequent replacement for long-term use;


Strong Low-Temperature Adaptability: Discharge efficiency remains at 50%-70% at -20°C, allowing for normal outdoor operation in northern winters. Lithium Manganese Oxide's discharge efficiency at -20°C is only 35%-45%;


Excellent Discharge Stability: Over 85% of the battery is in the 3.2-3.7V range, resulting in minimal voltage fluctuations, preventing data errors or lags in devices (such as medical testing equipment) due to voltage instability.


Disadvantages:


High Cost: The raw materials contain nickel and cobalt, making them 15%-20% more expensive than lithium manganese oxide.


Safety relies on protection: The thermal runaway temperature is approximately 150-200°C, requiring overcharge and overcurrent protection circuit boards to prevent bulging at high temperatures (lithium manganese oxide has a slightly lower thermal runaway temperature, approximately 140-180°C, but attenuation is more severe at high temperatures).


LiMn₂O₄ Polymer Batteries:


Advantages:


Significant Cost Advantage: Contains no nickel and cobalt, and the raw material cost is 15%-20% lower than ternary lithium, making it suitable for low-cost mass-produced equipment (such as affordable toys and emergency lighting).


Strong Initial Rate Discharge: Instantaneous peak discharge can reach 8C (compared to approximately 5C for ternary lithium), providing high power for short periods of time (such as the instantaneous acceleration of an electric toy car).


Easy Processing: The uniform particles of the positive electrode material make it easy to manufacture thin cells, suitable for the thin design requirements of 602560 batteries.


Disadvantages:


Short cycle life: Only 200-300 cycles. Manganese ions are easily soluble, resulting in a 20% capacity loss after 100 uses (compared to less than 10% for ternary lithium batteries).


Poor high-temperature stability: Annual capacity loss at 60°C reaches 25%-30% (compared to 10%-15% for ternary lithium batteries). Failure is common in hot summer environments such as cars and industrial environments.


Low energy density: Volumetric energy density is only 350-400Wh/L, resulting in a 15%-20% lower capacity than ternary lithium batteries of the same size (602560 specification lithium manganese oxide has a capacity of only 800-850mAh).​
