It is a safety protective cap designed for NEMA‑standard lighting sockets. It provides physical open circuit disconnection when inserted, while offering IP66 environmental protection and complying with RoHS, UL, and CE safety standards.
When installed into an empty NEMA socket, it creates a reliable open circuit condition to interrupt electrical continuity. This prevents accidental energization, reduces arc risk, and enhances safety during maintenance, replacement, or storage of lighting fixtures.
An open circuit cap breaks the circuit to ensure no continuity, while a shorting cap shorts the circuit to discharge residual voltage. This open circuit design is used where physical disconnection is required for safety compliance.
It means the cap mechanically and electrically breaks the current path inside the NEMA socket, ensuring a safe, reliable open state that cannot be bypassed accidentally.
