Tungsten based high specific gravity alloys are also known as high-density tungsten based metals or high specific gravity tungsten alloys which is an alloy material based on tungsten (tungsten content is generally 80% ~ 98%) and composed of a small amount of Ni, Fe, Cu, Co, Mo, Cr and other elements,

There are two kinds of tungsten heavy alloys: tungsten nickel iron alloy (weak magnetic) and tungsten nickel copper alloy (non-magnetic).

Properties of WNiFe Tungsten Heavy Alloy 

Tungsten heavy alloy, WNiFe alloy is characterized by high strength, high hardness, good conductivity and thermal conductivity, low thermal expansion coefficient, corrosion resistance and oxidation resistance, good machinability and weldability, and have a series of excellent physical properties and usability performance. In addition, tungsten heavy alloy, tungsten nickel iron has excellent absorption capacity for y-ray or X-ray.

 

Specific gravity: the general specific gravity is 16.5-18.75g/cm3;

 

High strength: the tensile strength is 700-1000mpa;

 

Strong absorption capacity: 30-40% higher than lead;

 

High thermal conductivity: the thermal conductivity of tungsten alloy is 5 times that of die steel;

 

Small thermal expansion coefficient: only 1 / 2-1 / 3 of iron or steel;

 

Good conductivity; It is widely used in lighting and welding industry because of its good electrical conductivity;

 

WNiFe alloy has good weldability and processability.

 

Applications of WNiFe Tungsten Heavy Alloy

WNiFe tungsten heavy alloy is mainly used to manufacture gyroscope rotor, guide device and shock absorber for aerospace and spacecraft; Die casting die, tool holder, boring bar and automatic watch hammer for mechanical manufacturing; Armour piercing bullet pits for conventional weapons, rivet heads and switch contacts for electrical products; In addition, WNiFe alloy is also used for manufacturing various radiation shielding parts, etc..
