It is feasible, but relevant safety measures must be taken: the slipway and angled launching ramp for launching the ship's roller air bag should be carefully designed; the launching with the ship roller air bag should be carried out according to the weight of the ship, the position of the center of gravity, the shape of the bottom of the ship, the slope of the launching ramp, the water level, etc.
Key Points for Selecting Marine Air Bags
The proper choice of marine air bags is essential for successful marine projects. Here are the main points.
I. Effective Length
Should be same as ship's breadth or 1 meter shorter. We can make air bags from 5m to 24m long.
II. Diameter
Based on ship size and work needs. Larger for big ships, smaller for small boats. For bottom cleaning/repair, bigger ones for worker comfort. 1.5m, 1.8m, 2m, or 2.5m suitable for large ships.
III. Number of Layers
More layers mean greater bearing capacity. Enough air bags with enough layers for lifting. Generally, 6 layers enough. In strict cases, 7-8 layers for roller air bags. E.g., for heavy caissons with limited contact area, need higher pressure and more plies.
IV. Selection Suggestions
