What is Marine Watertight Door?
Marine watertight doors can prevent the hull from being flooded if the hull breaks. The effectiveness of such arrangements is affected by several factors, but it is necessary to ensure that any watertight doors on the bulkhead are closed at or almost immediately after the occurrence of a rupture. It is also necessary to limit the number of access openings in the bulkheads and to exercise strict controls over the operation of watertight doors designed to close such openings.
The marine watertight door is arranged on the ship bulkhead and the outer wall of the superstructure, can withstand a certain pressure, and maintain the requirement of a watertight door.
