Pneumatic rubber fender also called yokohama fender, made by rubber & multi layers of rubber-dipped tyre fabric, is a leading anti-collision device for marine application in the world today.
Floating pneumatic rubber fenders can be easily handled and installed with guy-rope or guy-chain because of their lightweight. It can resist the shearing force and maintain energy absorption level under inclined compression up to 15 degrees. Meanwhile, provide low and comparatively even hull pressure.
Consisted of several synthetic-cord layers and tough abrasion-resistant rubber, they have consistent performance even under rough conditions and cyclic load. The maintenance cost and damage risk are minimized too.The best material also ensures self-buoyancy and extremely long service life.
Pneumatic fenders are available from 500 mm to 4,500 mm in diameters, and from 500 mm to 9,000 mm in length. All sizes of pneumatic rubber fenders are available as sling-type or with a heavy-duty chain & tire net. We also supply vertical hydro pneumatic fenders for submarines.
Note: The floating pneumatic rubber fenders have sometimes been colloquially referred to as "Yokohama Fenders" or "Yokohama type fenders" - ISO 17357:2014 Ships and marine technology - High-pressure floating pneumatic rubber fenders.

Advantages at Inclined Berthing
Ships usually make initial contact with the dock or another ship on STS operations at an oblique angle.
In the case of solid rubber fenders or foam fenders, rated reaction force and energy absorption decreases considerably at inclined compression compared with parallel compression. In order to compensate for the decrease of energy absorption at inclined compression, it is necessary to use larger sizes in the case of solid rubber fenders or foam fenders.

Product Structure
Pneumatic Rubber Fenders of Zhonghaihang made of an outer rubber, reinforcement synthetic-tyre-cord layer, and inner rubber,vulcanized firmly.
[A]. the outer rubbers are used to protect the cord layers and inner rubber from abrasion and other external forces. This rubber compound have sufficient tensile and tear resistance strength to withstand anticipated weather conditions and severe usage.
[B]. the reinforcement synthetic-tyre-cord layer strong enough to maintain the internal air pressure of the fender. [C]. the inner rubber layer seals the pressurized air inside the fender.
[D]. fenders of diameter 2500mm and larger equipped with safety valve for releasing excess internal pressure when the fenders are over-compressed accidentally.
Fender assembly for the end of metal, by inside and outside the two flanges with bolts, nut clamping, center is a valve, its structure is similar to automobile tire valve.
Pneumatic rubber fender precautions
1 Fender pressure should be kept in the standard air pressure in the± 5% range, and once every three months to check air pressure, deflated or fill gas up to standard in a timely manner.
2 Avoid touching the sharp things
3 When Long time not use, should wash to dry, filled with right amount of compressed air, placed in a cool dry ventilated place.
4 Storage place away from heat, acid and alkali, oil and grease
