Manufacturing Process:

The production process for 1.5mm, 2mm, and 3mm 304 and 316 stainless steel wire rope slings primarily includes raw material preparation, wire drawing, strand twisting, rope closing, and post-processing.
1. Raw Material Preparation
- Procurement of Wire Coils: Select 304 or 316 stainless steel wire coils, typically with a diameter of 5.5mm or greater.
- Pretreatment: First, mechanical methods, such as repeated bending, are used to initially remove the oxide scale from the wire coil surface. The wire coil is then pickled in a mixture of nitric and hydrofluoric acids to thoroughly remove surface impurities. After cleaning, a layer of lime or borax is applied to the wire coil surface as a lubricant to absorb the lubricant and reduce friction during subsequent wire drawing.
2. Wire Drawing
- Rough Drawing: The wire coil is passed through a die through multiple rough drawing passes to quickly reduce its diameter to an intermediate size. - **Intermediate Heat Treatment**: Because the steel wire becomes hard and brittle due to cold work hardening during the drawing process, it requires annealing in a protective atmosphere, such as hydrogen, to eliminate internal stresses, reduce hardness, and restore plasticity.

3. **Stranding**: A specific number of steel wires, such as 7 or 19, are twisted through a stranding machine. Around a central wire, surrounding wires are twisted together using a specific lay length and lay direction, such as right-hand alternate lay (ZS), to form a strong spiral structure.
4. **Rope Closing and Post-Processing**
- **Rope Closing**: Several strands, such as 6 or 8, are twisted together around a core to form a rope. Stainless steel wire ropes often use a stainless steel core or a cotton-free core, such as a polypropylene core, to prevent corrosion.
- **Stabilization**: The assembled wire rope is subjected to a tension close to 60%-80% of its breaking strength to even out internal stress, stabilize its structure, and reduce initial structural elongation.
