Product Processing
Material Preparation: A solid rod of certified 316L stainless steel is selected and cut to a suitable blank length.
CNC Swiss Machining / Multi-Axis Milling: The blank is loaded into a精密CNC Swiss-type lathe or a multi-axis milling center. The machining process in a single setup includes:
Turning: Creating the primary outer diameters and tapers of the needle body and connector base.
Milling the Luer Threads: Using live tooling, the precise, standardized Luer lock threads (e.g., per ISO 80369-7) are cut onto the connector section. This is a critical step for fit and seal integrity.
Drilling the Internal Lumen: A deep, straight hole is drilled or gun-drilled through the entire length to form the fluid channel.
Forming the Tip/Orifice: The distal end is machined to form the specific spray/jet geometry. This could be a simple bevel, a tapered cone, or a more complex shaped orifice using micro-milling.
Deburring & Internal Polishing: All machined edges, especially at the internal lumen entrance and the spray orifice, are meticulously deburred. The internal bore is then honed and/or electrophished to achieve a smooth, contaminant-free surface for consistent fluid flow.
Surface Passivation: The entire component undergoes chemical passivation per ASTM A967 (Method for 316L) to maximize its corrosion resistance by enhancing the protective chromium oxide layer.
Cleaning, Inspection & Marking: Final ultrasonic cleaning removes all residues. 100% inspection verifies critical dimensions (Luer thread fit via gauge, orifice size, concentricity). Laser marking is often applied for identification (e.g., part number, orifice size).
Packaging: Packaged clean and dry, suitable for laboratory use. Can be supplied non-sterile or sterilized (autoclave, ETO, Gamma).
