It starts as a high-purity 316L stainless steel capillary tube and undergoes a series of value-added operations: a precision-ground bevel at the tip for sharp penetration or specific fluid egress, permanent laser marking for identification, uniform sandblasting for a cleanable matte finish and enhanced grip, hermetic end capping (sealing) at one terminus, and controlled diameter reduction (necking) along its length for fitting integration or flow control. This integrated processing creates a robust, traceable, and performance-optimized component ready for critical applications.
Product Processing
Material Verification & Cutting: Medical-grade 316L stainless steel capillary tubing (ASTM A269) is verified and cut to specified pre-form length.
Diameter Reduction (Necking): Using precision rotary swaging or micro-forming, specific sections of the tube are radially compressed to create a reduced outer diameter, often to form a step for an O-ring or to fit into a smaller port.
End Capping/Sealing: One end of the tube is hermetically sealed. This is achieved via cold-forming (forging the end into a solid dome) or orbital micro-welding (for the highest integrity seal, especially for pressurized applications).
Stress Relief Annealing: After cold working (necking, swaging), the part undergoes a controlled vacuum or inert atmosphere annealing cycle to relieve internal stresses, which is critical for 316L to prevent sensitization and restore corrosion resistance.
Bevel Grinding: The open distal end is precision-ground on a CNC micro-grinder to create a sharp, consistent bevel edge. The bevel angle (e.g., 20°, 30°) is tightly controlled for its intended function (piercing, dispensing).
