The MDU-5B is a microwave based medical waste treatment system that combines automatic charging, shredding, microwave sterilization and discharge in one continuous line. Waste is lifted into the hopper, reduced by a double-shaft shredder and then held at sterilization temperature so that the outgoing material is unrecognisable and safe for municipal disposal. The unit is designed for treatment centres, hospital groups and regional operators that need a dependable daily throughput without the emissions and fuel handling of incineration.

• Verified sterilization performance: Microwave treatment at 2450 MHz and a holding temperature of at least 95 degrees Celsius for more than 45 minutes delivers a microbial inactivation of no less than 6 log10, tested with Bacillus subtilis var. niger spore ATCC 9372 as the biological indicator.
• Integral shredding before sterilization: A double-shaft shredder reduces bags, sharps containers and wrapped waste before the microwave stage, and an automatic reverse function clears blockages without opening the chamber.
• Automatic lifting and charging: Sealed waste containers are lifted and emptied into the pre-storage hopper by the built-in charging system, keeping the operator away from the loading point throughout the cycle.
• Single-operator PLC control: The process sequence, door interlocks and alarm handling are managed by a PLC, so one trained operator can run the line from the HMI panel with batch parameters recorded.
• Integrated steam generator: The steam generator needed for the holding section is supplied as part of the unit, which means no separate boiler room, no fuel storage and no pressure vessel inspection regime.
• Low environmental impact: Treatment is electric and closed; no acid gas, dioxins or contaminated steam are released, and the residue is sterile and suitable for municipal landfill or recycling routes.

The cycle starts when the lifting system raises a sealed container and empties it into the pre-storage hopper. A feed arm pushes the material into the double-shaft shredder, where bags and sharps containers are opened and reduced. The shredded stream is conveyed through the microwave section and then the temperature holding section, where it remains above 95 degrees Celsius for more than 45 minutes under 2450 MHz microwave energy. A discharge screw conveyor delivers the sterile residue into a standard waste container or compaction unit. From that point the material can follow normal municipal disposal or recycling routes, because it is no longer infectious and cannot be recognised.

The unit is specified for institutions that handle infectious waste every day: regional treatment centres serving a group of hospitals, large general hospitals with their own waste rooms, and contractors that collect from clinics, laboratories and dialysis centres. It accepts blood and blood products, dialysis waste, human and animal tissue, sharps, isolation waste, cultures and slides, intravenous and blood bags with tubing, laboratory specimens, surgery and pathology waste, and small quantities of trace chemotherapy waste. Because the residue is unrecognisable and sterile, it can leave the site through normal municipal channels.

The machine is shipped as a tested assembly on a steel frame. Exposed surfaces are protected with PE film, magnetron units, the control cabinet and instrumentation travel in plywood cases, and the shredder and discharge sections are braced for container transport. A packing list, wiring diagram, operation manual and spare parts list accompany each shipment. Commissioning support, operator training and remote diagnostic assistance are available, and the standard warranty covers the mechanical structure and the control system against manufacturing defects.
