With a footprint sized for an existing waste storage building, the MDU-5B brings centralised treatment capability to hospitals, clinics and collection companies. The machine sterilises by microwave energy rather than steam pressure, which removes boiler inspection requirements and shortens daily start-up. Shredding takes place before sterilization, so sharp items are destroyed as part of the process and the discharged residue is both unrecognisable and reduced in volume.

• Verified sterilization performance: Microwave treatment at 2450 MHz and a holding temperature of at least 95 degrees Celsius for more than 45 minutes delivers a microbial inactivation of no less than 6 log10, tested with Bacillus subtilis var. niger spore ATCC 9372 as the biological indicator.
• Low environmental impact: Treatment is electric and closed; no acid gas, dioxins or contaminated steam are released, and the residue is sterile and suitable for municipal landfill or recycling routes.
• Integral shredding before sterilization: A double-shaft shredder reduces bags, sharps containers and wrapped waste before the microwave stage, and an automatic reverse function clears blockages without opening the chamber.
• Continuous rather than batch operation: Waste is processed in a single pass, so throughput is not limited by chamber cooling time and the machine can be shut down once the day's waste has been treated.
• Single-operator PLC control: The process sequence, door interlocks and alarm handling are managed by a PLC, so one trained operator can run the line from the HMI panel with batch parameters recorded.
• Small utility footprint: Installation needs a level floor, three-phase power and a ventilation connection; the compact arrangement suits existing waste rooms rather than requiring a new building.

Operation follows four steps. First, containers are lifted and emptied into the hopper by the automatic charging system. Second, the double-shaft shredder reduces the material and an automatic reverse clears any jam. Third, the shredded mass passes the microwave section and is held above 95 degrees Celsius for more than 45 minutes. Fourth, the sterile residue is discharged by screw conveyor into a closed container. The complete sequence is interlocked, and the HMI shows the state of each stage at any moment.

The equipment fits hospitals, regional treatment centres, laboratory campuses and veterinary facilities that need a documented, on-site sterilization step. Materials accepted include blood and blood products, sharps and syringes, dialysis waste, human tissue and limbs, animal tissue and bedding, laboratory specimens, cultures and slides, isolation waste, surgery and pathology samples, and contaminated tubing and bags. All of it leaves the machine as sterile, unrecognisable residue suitable for municipal disposal or recycling, which simplifies the downstream contract with the local landfill operator.

The equipment is delivered as a single tested line. The frame is bolted to a steel base, external panels are protected with film, and the microwave units, PLC cabinet and sensors are packed in separate foam-lined cases. Documentation includes layout drawings, utility requirements, the operating manual, the maintenance schedule and the spare parts catalogue. Installation covers positioning, leveling, power and ventilation connection, and a trial run; operator training and a first biological verification are included in the commissioning scope.
