The MDU-5 is built around a simple principle: shred first, then sterilise, then discharge without human contact. A lifting and charging system feeds sealed waste containers into the shredding chamber; the reduced mass passes through the microwave section and a temperature holding section before leaving the unit as sterile, low-volume residue. One operator can run a complete cycle from the touch panel, and the PLC records the process parameters for each batch.

• Single-operator PLC control: The process sequence, door interlocks and alarm handling are managed by a PLC, so one trained operator can run the line from the HMI panel with batch parameters recorded.
• Automatic lifting and charging: Sealed waste containers are lifted and emptied into the pre-storage hopper by the built-in charging system, keeping the operator away from the loading point throughout the cycle.
• Integral shredding before sterilization: A double-shaft shredder reduces bags, sharps containers and wrapped waste before the microwave stage, and an automatic reverse function clears blockages without opening the chamber.
• Low environmental impact: Treatment is electric and closed; no acid gas, dioxins or contaminated steam are released, and the residue is sterile and suitable for municipal landfill or recycling routes.
• Continuous rather than batch operation: Waste is processed in a single pass, so throughput is not limited by chamber cooling time and the machine can be shut down once the day's waste has been treated.
• Integrated steam generator: The steam generator needed for the holding section is supplied as part of the unit, which means no separate boiler room, no fuel storage and no pressure vessel inspection regime.

The operating sequence is fixed and interlocked. When the hopper is loaded, the feed arm advances the waste into the shredder; the shredded material is transferred into the microwave chamber, where magnetron units apply energy at 2450 MHz. The material is held above 95 degrees Celsius for at least 45 minutes before the discharge conveyor moves it out of the machine. If temperature or holding time falls outside the set window, the discharge is blocked and an alarm is raised on the panel, which prevents untreated material from leaving the unit.

The equipment suits sites with a steady daily volume rather than occasional peaks: general hospitals, specialised clinics, veterinary practices with anatomical waste, university and research laboratories, and municipal or private treatment centres. Accepted materials include blood and blood products, sharps and syringes, dialysis waste, human and animal tissue, laboratory specimens, cultures and slides, isolation waste, surgery waste, and non-hazardous pharmaceutical waste. The shredding stage means that sharps containers do not need to be opened manually before treatment.

Each unit is packed in export configuration: the main frame is fixed to a steel skid, the shredder and microwave sections are covered with film and boarding, and the control cabinet travels in a separate crate. Labels mark lifting points and no-stacking zones. The delivery package includes the installation and operation manual, electrical drawings, the spare parts catalogue and a commissioning checklist. After installation the line is tested with a dummy load, and the first biological verification can be witnessed by the customer's quality team.
