Melamine Molding Compound (MMC) is a thermosetting plastic derived from the chemical reaction of melamine and formaldehyde. The compound features a high solid content (≥99%) and low moisture content, contributing to its extended shelf life. Also known as Melamine Formaldehyde Moulding Powder or A5, it is identified by CAS No. 9003-08-01 and HS Code 39092010.
Food Grade Safety and Purity
The "Food Grade" designation ensures the compound is safe for manufacturing food-related products, being non-toxic and free from harmful substances. While FDA-approved for normal food serving, microwaving and use with highly acidic hot foods should be avoided as temperatures above 120°C may cause formaldehyde leaching.
