The NVIDIA MFP7E10-Nxxx series is a passive MPO‑12/APC‑to‑MPO‑12/APC multimode fiber cable engineered for short‑reach interconnects in high‑performance data centers. The MFP7E10-N005 (5 meter variant) uses eight active fibers in a Type‑B crossover topology to enable direct attached copper/optical link without polarity reversal adapters. With angled physical contact (APC) 8‑degree polish, back reflections are minimized, ensuring signal integrity for PAM4 modulation up to 800Gb/s.
Each cable is factory‑tested to Telcordia GR‑1435 and supports operating temperatures from 0 to 70°C. The aqua LSZH jacket provides flame retardance while reducing toxic smoke emission, suitable for high‑density switches and GPU clusters.
Angle‑polished connectors suppress back reflection that would otherwise degrade laser performance in high‑speed transceivers. Unlike ultra‑polished (UPC) versions, APC allows reliable operation at 50G PAM4 per lane. The green NVIDIA shell quickly identifies APC compatibility, preventing mismating with legacy blue‑shell UPC cables.
Type‑B crossover: Lane 1 at one end connects to lane 12 at the opposite end — ideal for 4‑lane Tx/Rx pairing without external crossover cords.
Designed for 800G DR8 / 400G DR4 architectures, each cable contains 8 multimode fibers arranged in a crossed pinout. The 8‑degree APC interface reduces optical return loss to >35dB, critical for high baud rate transceivers such as NVIDIA MMA4Z00‑NS (twin‑port OSFP). The passive design consumes zero power and introduces no latency, making it ideal for switch‑to‑switch or switch‑to‑DPU links in NDR InfiniBand fabrics.
Rigorous end‑face geometry testing and IL/RL verification ensure each cable meets the stringent requirements of modern 800G Ethernet and NVLink fabric extensions.
