Insufficient pole height for span requirements – 9m poles sometimes cannot achieve required conductor clearances over roads, rivers, and obstructions. 11m provides the extra margin needed for safety and compliance.
Corrosion in high-humidity environments – Southeast Asia’s tropical climate with annual rainfall exceeding 2,000mm and humidity approaching 100% accelerates steel degradation. Paint and epoxy coatings fail rapidly; substandard galvanizing cannot endure the region’s severe conditions.
Typhoon-induced failures – Under-designed poles collapse during storms, causing extensive outages and costly repairs.
Logistical challenges – Longer poles require careful handling and transport planning. Two-section designs solve this problem.
