Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q1: Does 201 stainless steel pipe rust?
A: It is rust-resistant, not rust-proof. It performs well in indoor, dry, or non-saline environments. For coastal or poolside applications, we recommend grade 304 or 316.
Q2: What is the difference between 201 and 304 stainless steel pipe?
A: Grade 201 has lower nickel content (3.5–5.5%) compared to grade 304 (8–10.5%). This makes 201 more economical but slightly less corrosion-resistant. Grade 201 is also harder but somewhat less ductile.
Q3: Can you cut and thread the pipe to my specifications?
A: Yes. We offer custom cutting, threading, grooving, and bending services before shipment.
Q4: Do you provide Mill Test Certificates (MTCs)?
A: Yes. All shipments are accompanied by EN 10204 Type 3.1 or 3.2 Mill Test Certificates verifying chemical and mechanical properties.
Q5: How can I prevent the 201 pipe from rusting?
