It is a cylindrical container, typically made of PP (Polypropylene) or PE (Polyethylene), consisting of two main parts:
The Sleeve/Body: The outer tube that holds the product.
The Screw Mechanism: An internal plunger that, when twisted, pushes a platform up to dispense the product.
Unlike a squeeze tube, it offers precise, controlled application and prevents product from being sucked back in.
Cap: Snaps or screws on to cover the applicator and prevent drying or contamination.
Applicator: Attached to the cap. Common types include:
Doe-Foot Applicator: A soft, paddle-shaped tip made of porous plastic or silicone. Ideal for smooth, even application of gloss.
Brush Applicator: A small, cylindrical brush for more precise application, often used for liquid lipsticks.
Slant-Tip Applicator: A solid plastic tip with an angled surface for direct application.
Shoulder/Neck: The part of the tube that the cap seals against. It has an opening from which the product is dispensed.
Sleeve/Body: The main container that holds the product.
Twist Knob (Base): The part at the bottom the user turns to raise the product.
Platform (Piston): The internal disc that moves up the tube when the knob is turned, pushing the product out.
Cup (or Ferrule): The small plastic piece that holds the applicator and snaps into the cap.
