Function:
Crawler crane lifting height limiter assembly is an important safety device, its main functions include the following points:
1. Limit the hoisting height of the hook
The hoisting height limiter protects the hook and wire rope from damage by restricting the highest hoisting position of the hook, preventing the hook from being lifted excessively, and avoiding collision of the hook with the lifting arm or other parts.
2. Preventing overtopping accident
When the hook rises to the set limit position, the limiter will automatically cut off the power supply of the hoisting mechanism and stop the rising action of the hook, preventing the hook from continuing to rise and causing the wire rope to break or the hook to fall and other dangerous situations.
3. Protection of wire rope and drum
The limiter ensures that when the hook is lowered to the lowest position, the reel still retains enough safety turns (usually not less than 2 turns) to prevent the wire rope from being excessively loosened and released, resulting in chaotic rope or damage.
4. Provide safety
Lifting height limiter is an important part of crane safety protection system, which can effectively avoid accidents caused by operation error or mechanical failure, and guarantee the safety of equipment and personnel.
5. Multiple triggering methods
Depending on the structure of different cranes, the hoisting height limiter may adopt various forms such as hammer type, lever type or electronic type. For example, the hammer type limiters trigger the limit switch through the free sagging of the hammer to cut off the power supply.
