QZY Models is delighted to unveil the 1:1000 scale architecture model of Aecom's urban design project for the core area of Shanghai Jiading. This intricately crafted model employs a range of techniques, including the use of maple wood, 3D printing, laser cutting, and CNC cutting.
The model's roads and base feature double-layered maple wood-pressed veneer, adding a unique texture to the presentation. The landscaping design showcases a thoughtful differentiation of tree species, effectively distinguishing between avenue trees and landscape trees. In the core area, detailed buildings are meticulously constructed using acrylic for glass curtain walls and laser-engraved frameworks, with the thinnest parts measuring just 0.4mm. Unconventional landscape sculptures in the core area are crafted using semi-transparent 3D printing materials and techniques.
The peripheral buildings are created using 3D-printed blocks, overlaid with a hand-applied layer of maple wood veneer, producing clean and natural wood-textured blocks. This design not only emphasizes the main design areas but also subtly diminishes the prominence of surrounding structures. The landscape water features are enhanced with a UV-printed matte finish. With dimensions of 2*2 meters, this model was completed in a remarkable 15-day timeframe, showcasing Aecom's innovative urban design vision and QZY Models' excellence in model crafting.
