A petroleum oil storage tank from our Lipp build carries a containment lip around the perimeter, so any spill from filling or draw is caught at the base instead of reaching the ground. It is the closed, compliant store for diesel and other petroleum products that agencies ask for.
The tank has a built-in lip or bund around its base. When a hose slips or a valve weeps, the fuel lands in that perimeter catch instead of on the soil, so a small event stays a small event. For diesel and other petroleum streams, which are more hazardous than water, that ring is the difference between a wipe-up and a reportable spill.
Petroleum products are generally more hazardous than water, and a spill is both an environmental and a safety risk to the site and the neighbours.
