KAILONG Moulding Flask – Professional Overview
The KAILONG Moulding Flask is a robust, precision‑manufactured frame used in sand casting to contain and shape the molding sand under compaction pressure. Designed for both manual jolt‑squeeze machines and automated molding lines, KAILONG flasks provide essential rigidity, accurate alignment, and reliable venting during the mold making and pouring processes.
Manufactured from high‑tensile cast iron (e.g., GG25 or GJL‑250) or heavy‑gauge fabricated steel, each flask undergoes stress relief and precision machining to guarantee flatness, squareness, and dimensional consistency. The working faces are ground to a tolerance of ≤0.1 mm/m, ensuring perfect match between cope and drag halves. Precision dowel pins and bushings are installed for repeatable closing, while reinforced ribs on side walls prevent distortion under high squeeze pressures (up to 15 kg/cm² or more).
KAILONG flasks feature strategically positioned vent holes and slots to allow rapid escape of gases generated during pouring, reducing casting defects such as blowholes or porosity. Hardened steel wear strips along the inner walls resist abrasive sand flow, extending flask life. For automated foundries, optional guide pins, lifting lugs, and magnetic or pneumatic clamping interfaces are available to integrate seamlessly with existing molding equipment.
Typical applications include automotive cylinder blocks, pump housings, pipe fittings, and general engineering castings. By providing stable mold containment and precise alignment, KAILONG flasks improve casting dimensional accuracy, reduce mold shift, and lower scrap rates. Custom sizes are manufactured to match any machine specification (DISA, Hunter, Sinto, or conventional jolt‑squeeze units).
