HD-103 Holiday Detectors are employed in the non-destructive detection and location of pinholes, bare spots, or thin points in protective coatings applied for anti-corrosion protection over metal and concrete (conductive) surfaces.
With corrosion being an extremely costly and disruptive worldwide problem, preventative determination becomes essential. For newly constructed tanks, pipelines, and other installations where corrosion prevention coatings have been applied, specifications will normally require verification. The detector is also applicable in the porcelain enamel industry.

HD-103 Holiday Detector provides a specific impulse voltage on the surface of protective coating or painting that covers metal material substrates. If the protective layer contains pinholes or the coating is too thin, the detector will release a spark and send an impulse signal to the alarm component.
The alarm component will beep and indicate harmful points to the operator, enabling precise identification of coating defects.
